Weymouth Ferry Port

Weymouth ferry port lies on the Channel coast in Dorset, southern England and used to offer sailings to the Channel Islands as well as St Malo in France.

Please note: since 2015, no international ferries have operated to or from Weymouth.

There is talk of a service to Cherbourg being re-established, but so far no date for this has been confirmed.

Directions To and From Weymouth Ferry Port

Address: The Quay, Weymouth, Dorset, DT4 8DX

Weymouth itself is hugely popular with tourists - most notably for windsurfers and the town gained international fame after hosting a brilliant sailing competition as part of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The town's Esplanade, with its Victorian bow-fronted buildings which look out across the Bay is a great example of the traditional British seaside town. On the seafront in high season you can find amusement arcades, fairground rides and other attractions, shops, bars and cafes. At the far end, near the ferry terminal building is the Jurassic Skyline viewing tower, a slow moving gondola that rises and turns to give you a great panoramic view all across Nothe Fort, the town and Weymouth Bay, while back along the front a little way, the local traditions of sand sculpture and donkey rides are as popular as ever. Weymouth beach has an extremely low tide, so people of all ages can easily paddle out without getting into deep water, great for family holidays. All along the esplanade are bars and big hotels, while down many of the streets leading off it are a large number of small, friendly B&Bs.
