Ferries across the Channel to France are always in high demand and with events such as the Festival Occitania (in French!) starting in Toulouse next week, ports should be prepared for more travellers making the trip. The festival runs from the 20th September all the way through to the 23rd October and will be showcasing a huge diversity of talent and performers, in 24 different towns surrounding Toulouse. Some of the headline acts will be performing in the city centre of Toulouse itself. In particular, the Theatre du Pave will be hosting a series of theatrical productions, from world famous plays to lesser known, up and coming performances.
In addition to the festival, Toulouse is situated temptingly close to some beautiful ski resorts in the south of France. With the advantages of ski drive trips recently advocated by companies such as Brittany Ferries, holidaymakers may pack up their gear and catch some of the festival on the way to the slopes.
Tourists are spoilt for choice on ways to make the crossing to France, with both P & O and SeaFrance offering the highly popular Dover to Calais voyage and DFDS Seaways offering the Dover to Dunkerque alternative.
