LD Lines provide ferry crossings between Portsmouth and Le Havre, and Newhaven and Dieppe, and St Nazaire/Nantes and Gijon.
Operating year-round the Portsmouth-Le Havre is sailed by the conventional ferry Norman Spirit. Between May and September there is also a high speed service the Norman Arrow. The conventional ferry takes around eight hours on the night sailing from Portsmouth and and five hours 30 minutes on the day sailing from Le Havre. The high speed service takes just three hours 15 minutes.
The Newhaven – Dieppe route is served by the Seven Sisters ferry with two return sailings per day and a crossing time of four hours.
St Nazaire/Nantes in North West Brittany to Gijón in Northern Spain is operated by the ferry Baltic Amber, providing three return sailings weekly with a crossing time of 14 hours.
