Visiting Ireland

It’s amazing given how close Ireland is the UK how few people have visited. Among the rest of Europe, it’s one of the favourite destinations, and it’s not hard to see why. There’s the famous Irish hospitality, lively pubs where more often than not there’ll be a sing along, Guinness, and beautiful countryside as well as a sparsely populated and dramatic coastline.

Getting there by ferry from the UK is simplicity itself, with regular crossings from Liverpool, Holyhead, Douglas (on the Isle of Man), Fishbourne, and Pembroke to Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, and Rosslare. Dublin port is reasonably close to the city centre, and is the perfect port to choose for a long weekend in Dublin.
