Condor Ferries has safely transported Tony Robinson and his Time Team crew from Weymouth to Jersey by ferry.
The ferry operator, which services routes between the UK and the Channel Islands, was pleased to offer Mr Robinson and his crew of archaeologists safe passage to Jersey.
The Time Team crew travelled to Jersey in order to film a production for Channel 4. Titled ‘Hitler’s Island Fortress’, the World War II oriented episode is scheduled to air on Sunday the 27th February.
Marketing manager at Condor Ferries, Justin Amey, said: “It was great to welcome Tony on board and we were not surprised by Time Team’s interest in Jersey. The Channel Islands’ unique past makes them a fascinating destination for anybody interested in the history of World War II and visitors can learn more at a number of excellent locations on Jersey”.
Condor Ferries has come under fire in recent weeks after a public consultation suggested that the operator improve its services. Operating twice daily crossings between Weymouth and Jersey, Condor Ferries accepted that frequent delays, persistent faults and unexpected schedule changes were less than ideal. Condor Ferries also provides crossings from Weymouth to Guernsey and services routes between both Channel Islands and Portsmouth.
