Condor Ferries controls all major ferry routes between the UK and Jersey, sailing from Portsmouth, Poole and Weymouth. Jersey is a popular destination for mainland travellers, not least because it is situated close to the French coast. Earlier this month, Condor Ferries announced that it would launch additional Friday evening sailings from Jersey to Saint-Malo in France.
Responding to public demand, Condor Ferries will run the extra Friday evening sailing from the 5th November 2010 until the 25th March 2011. The new sailing could find itself on Condor Ferries’ permanent timetable, subject to financial considerations and customer feedback.
The Managing Director of Condor Ferries, Simon Edsall, said: “I believe these changes address the comments of those who wanted a later sailing on those dates and I can assure people who preferred the earlier sailing that their travel plans will not be affected by this change.” Mr Edsall added: “We will be monitoring the popularity of these additional ‘after work’ sailings closely and have commissioned an extension to our customer satisfaction monitoring, to investigate the most popular departure times for all our ports and routes, to ensure we best meet the needs of our customers.” The Friday evening route can now be booked online.
