Introduced in 2005, the High Speed Normandie Express provides a fast ferry crossing to Cherbourg and Caen from Portsmouth.
Operating from the 1st April to the 2nd November 2009, with crossing times of only 180 minutes to Cherbourg and 225 minutes to Caen, the ship runs up to two return trips a day to Cherbourg and a daily service to Caen every Friday, Saturday and Sunday supplementing the three return crossings a day by conventional cruise-ferry.

Looking for a faster ferry to France? The high speed Normandie Express was introduced by Brittany Ferries in 2005. It cuts the crossing time from Portsmouth to Cherbourg and Caen in France.

The ferry operates from April to November, and has a crossing time of just 180 minutes to Cherbourg and 225 minutes to Caen. There are two return trips per day to Cherbourg and and a daily service to Caen operating on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (which complements the three return crossings per day on conventional cruise ferry).

The state-of-the-art €120 million cruise ferry Armorique has been designed specifically for use between Plymouth and the Breton port of Roscoff. Entered service in February 2009, it incorporates the very latest technology and will be particularly fuel efficient as well as environmentally-friendly by keeping CO2 emissions to a minimum.
Armorique is the ancient name for coastal north-western France (or Gaul) meaning “the country which faces the sea” as well as the name of a national park in Brittany.
